Obituary

Marshall J. Ryan, 90 of Lake in the Hills, died peacefully, December 28, 2018
Visitation will be on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 9:00am until the 10:00am Mass, all at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Honor Flight or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
Marshall was born January 31, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Thomas and Julia Ryan. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. On May 19, 1962 he married Gloria Treider. He worked as an electrical engineer. He was an amazing man who loved playing the organ, at the age of 60 learned how to fly, he was a Sir Knight of Columbus and was the recipient of an Honor Flight. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and was an avid Bear’s, Cub’s and Notre Dame fan.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, his children, Thomas (Denise) Ryan, Nancy (David) Babicz, Patrick (Anne Marie) Ryan and Mary Ryan; and by his 7 grandchildren, Sam, Rachael, Gabby, Ethan, Matt, Kenneth and Colin and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Thomas, sisters, Margaret, Mary and Isabelle.
