Obituary

After an extended Alzheimer’s journey, Nancy T. Haufe (82) died peacefully, January 29, 2019 at Bickford Memory Care in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
Visitation will be Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials the family requested consideration of donation to the Alzheimer’s Association to support research toward a cure.
Nancy was born December 9, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Theresa Muehlbauer. On May 4, 1957 she married Paul Haufe and enjoyed a loving, joy filled marriage. She served the Norwood Park Community as director of the Home Delivered Meals program and later volunteered at McHenry Hospital. Nancy was an engaged and active grandma who enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren. She was an avid bowler, golfer, traveler and family historian, who scrapbooked the family’s lives through photos. Her friends were abundant, her love of family was undeniable, and her gentle spirit will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Haufe, her children, Richard Haufe, Diana Braun, and Katherine (Larry) Mountain. 7 grandchildren, Ericka (Gary) Criscione, Nicole Braun, Vanessa, Danielle and Ryan Mountain, Vivian and Joey Haufe and great granddaughter, Samantha.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Muehlbauer.
