Shannon K. Decker, 47 of Elgin, died peacefully, February 24, 2019
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, with a service at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family of Shannon K. Decker. Shannon wanted everyone to be comfortable so in honor of her the family would like everyone to dress casual and comfortable.
Shannon was born September 3, 1971 in Elgin, Illinois the daughter of Richard and Susan (Vege) Sarro. On August 14, 1992 she married Jerry A. Decker. She worked as a bus driver’s aid and later as a lunch room supervisor. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed ice hockey, shopping, getting her nails done and she had an extensive spoon collection.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, her children, Anthony, Corben Decker (fiancé -Muhammad Zakir), by her sister, Jennifer Sarro, step father, Richard Sarro, and cousins, Zachary Vege, Krista Vege, Denise Vege, Donald Vege, Jennifer Vege, Sydney Vege, Brook Vege Natalie Vallianatos.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and step brother, John Sarro.

We are so saddened by the loss of our cousin. We will all miss Shannon so very much. Although we all will miss her, we hope the family can take comfort knowing Shannon is with her mom, as well as her loving Vege uncles- as well as other family members. Love and hugs to all.
We will really miss Shannon , we had some fun times together especially when went to dinner and a movie when you and the family moved back from Pennsylvania and when we saw Paul Vege's last concert. You went too soon. Maybe you're listening to Paul play as we speak with your Mom.
You will be truly missed by your family and friends. God has welcomed you to your heavenly home.
We are so sorry to hear of Shannon's passing.She was so easygoing and full of life.I think of her mom often and find comfort knowing they are together again.

Jerry. I hardly knew Shannon but we both worked together for many years and you became like a son to me. I saw you grow from a trainee in the maintenance department to become the president of a company and all along we both put family first. So it is with shock and disbelief in my heart I see you putting your wife to her final rest. It must be one of the hardest thing you done in your life and I cannot even begin to understand how painful this must be for you and your children. I wish I could help you through these hard times as I am sure your friends and family too would want. And let this be your support, knowing that we all are both willing and capable to be there for you in times of sorrow and pain. That is after all what family does and family we are.
