Leslie was one of the strongest woman I have encountered. She was a wonderful person, mate, mother, teacher, and friend. She was bright, funny, witty, and loving. She loved many people around her and they loved her. I loved her very much. How you will be missed dear friend.

I worked with Leslie briefly at Barnes and Noble. She was always such a warm, kind and funny person. She went out of her way to welcome me, a new employee, when we worked together. She will be missed.

To Frankie, Jim, Mama Mildred, and brothers Fantacone. I was so, so sorry and sad to hear of Leslie's passing. I will never forget her jolly countenance, her indefatigable spirit and her fierce independence. She was always a delight to be with, and she, Kim Singleton and I laughed our way through many lunches and events together in the 90's and beyond. I remember her participating in a singing contest at a Woodstock-like event. She sang the Joni Mitchell theme from Woodstock and she made the semi-finals! It was a time I will never forget, along with the friend, who despite a life fraught with trouble and cloudy skies, always saw the silver lining. Always a reason to laugh. The last time I saw her, we danced in our living room at a Woodstock party we had at our home! That was Leslie. She always chose to laugh, sing and dance, and that is what I will remember most about her. Love to you in heaven, darling Leslie, as you laugh, sing and dance, no pain and no troubles in the loveliest gardens of our minds. Blessings upon all who remain. Hang onto each other, and take it one step at a time. Godspeed. - Cynthia

I was 1 day older than Leslie and although she was still in Illinois and I was back East in Massachusetts, we made a point every year to recognize each other's birthday. We were 1/6 of the original "Dirty Dozen" of merchandise analysts at Sears Regional office in Albany, NY in the 80's. What good times we had! I loved that she was so smart and had such a great sense of humor. Yes - she truly did light up a room. I will miss her. Love you, girlfriend!!
