Obituary

John V. Angerame, 80 of Huntley, died peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 4-8pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
John graduated from St. Mel’s in Chicago, and later served in the United States Army. He went on to have a career as regional service manager for AM International and Heidelberg Printing. On October 5, 1963 he married his high school sweetheart, Arlene Bishop. They celebrated 56 years of unyielding devotion. John was very active in his community. He was a leader in numerous youth organizations from little league coach to Scout Master. He was very active at St. Peter and Paul Church where he was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus reaching 4th degree Knight, Grand Knight and District Deputy. He later went on to be very active at St. Mary Church where he was the head usher for 7:30am Mass and served in the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Sun City Theatre Group, Trip Escort and a member of Covenants and Compliance for the Sun City Lodge. John was Fire Commissioner for the Huntley Fire Protection District for 14 years, a member of CERTS and provided CPR training for hundreds of area residents.
He enjoyed traveling, especially spending time in Florida with his family, and loved his morning walks on the beach. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene, his children, Michael Angerame, Annette (James) Stoner, Diana (Randy) Story, by his five grandchildren, Joseph, Allison, Jacob, Ryan and Emma and also by his nephew, Mark (Camille) Angerame, and niece, Sue Angerame.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Viator and Mary (Tangi), by his brother, Frank Angerame and nephew, Danny Angerame.
