Stephen John Scott, 51, of Round Lake Beach, formerly of Huntley, died on February 26, 2024, in his home,
Stephen was born in Chicago on April 10, 1972, to parents Charles “Scotty” and Mary (nee Synoracki) Scott. Stephen was the oldest of three boys and was dedicated to his family. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for the people he cared about and his son Nicholas was his whole world. Stephen was an excellent coach and served as the Defensive Coach for both the Huntley Mustangs football and lacrosse teams, as well as the Hanover Park Hurricanes football team. He was a fantastic chef and took pride in feeding his family and friends. He was strong-willed and loved to laugh and joke with his family. Stephen will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Stephen is survived by his son, Nicholas Scott, his mother, Mary Scott, his brothers, Douglas (Lori) Scott, and James (Nicole) Scott, his girlfriend, Jorie Lettner, Nicholas’s mother, Katy Scott, his nieces and nephew, MaryJane Scott, Joseph Scott, Madeline Fitzgerald, Emily Fitzgerald, Samantha Scott, and Shelby Scott, and Jorie’s children, Hunter Lettner, and Kesleigh Lettner.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles “Scotty” Scott.

Visitation will be Monday, March 4, 2024, from 4 p.m. to time of prayers 6:30 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Mass will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. with a visitation the hour prior, all at All Saints Cathedral Parish, 9201 West Higgins Road, Chicago.
Burial to follow mass at All Saints Cathedral Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Stephen’s name can be made to his family.
