John T. Kissane, Sr., 74 of Huntley, passed away on Saturday morning, July 25, 2015 following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 27, 1940 in Chicago, the son of David and Mary (O’Connell) Kissane. He graduated from St. Mel High School in Chicago, served in the Army National Guard and attended trade school to become a sprinkler fitter. He was united in marriage to Alice F. Riordan on June 6, 1964. The couple made their home in Addison where they raised their family and John worked for Viking Fire Protection. John retired in 1997 a year after his wife passed away and on February 28, 1999 was united in marriage to Donna M. Lydon in South Barrington. The couple made their home in Sun City, Huntley. John was a proud member of the Local 281 of United Association for over 50 years, considered himself a Chicago sports fan, enjoying all the Chicago professional teams, was a very handy guy and could fix anything. He was friendly, outgoing and had a great laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, his children, Alicia (Tim) Malec, John T. Kissane Jr., Aileen (Dave) Haslett, his step-children, Cyndi (Mark) Botoske, Eileen (Jim) Krutsch, Marty Richling and Tony (Laura) Richling, his grandchildren, Jack, Denny, Patrick, Mikey, Erin, Kerry, Marty (Kaylynn), Ashley, Raymund, Kailah, Trevor, Joe, Colleen, Sharon, Stephen & Joshua, his great-grandchildren, Elliott, Mollie, Killian, Liam & Kennedy and his sister, Mary Lowery. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice and his brother, David.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1st from 2:30 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. at DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Feed My Starving Children.

John was a wonderful person, always a smile, always bringing joy to all of us. He was the perfect Grandpa to each of the children, and we all have many, many wonderful memories.
