Virginia G. Delk, 73 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington following a lengthy illness.

Virginia “Ginny” was born December 23, 1943 in Chicago; she was the daughter of Valentine “Bud” and Frieda (Branstetter) Mead. Ginny grew up in Justice, IL and on June 2, 1962 was united in marriage to her loving husband, Lawrence A. Delk. The couple lived briefly in Justice and in 1965 moved to Bridgeview where they raised their two daughters. Ginny worked for Dominic’s Foods for 33 years, retiring in 2008 and then moving to Huntley. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, sewing, cooking, fishing and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry, her daughters, Nadine (Art) Scheller of Mount Prospect, Cheryl (Paul) Delk-Le Good of Atlanta, Georgia, her grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah and Art IV and her sisters, Valerie (Les) O’Neal and Lorena Ritter.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the 4:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22nd at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. I have fond memories of meeting Ginny at Cheryl's wedding celebration. It was wonderful to watch the interaction between her and her loved ones. Having experienced this warmth and joy, I know she will be greatly missed.
