Obituary

Sharon S. Grimmonpre, 83 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Saturday morning, April 21, 2018 following a lengthy illness.

She was born October 2, 1934 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Kempton Verne and Margaret (Kendall) Hall. At an early age she moved with her family to Tenino, Washington, where she was raised and educated. Following high school, she worked as a switchboard operator in Tenino. On May 12, 1955 she was united in marriage to Gerald D. Grimmonpre. The couple moved to Marshalltown and she continued her career as a switchboard operator. They made their home in various communities near the Air Force bases her husband was stationed at and then they moved to McHenry, Illinois, where they raised their family. In 2006, Sharon moved to Sun City in Huntley. She enjoyed golf, tap dancing, playing cards and she continued to do hairdressing for her friends.

She is survived by her children, Mark D. Grimmonpre of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Gary D. (Kathryn) Grimmonpre of Huntley and Lisa L. (Stu) Palmer of Hillsboro Beach, Florida, her grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake) Houser, Rebecca (Hunter) Grimmonpre, Kendall (Janae) Grimmonpre, Kyle (Courtney) Grimmonpre, Andrew Moise and Melissa Moise, her brother, Gary K. (Darlene) Hall of Johnstown, Colorado, her niece, Sharon Gustafson and her nephew, David Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a service and sharing of memories at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
