James T. McGuire, 83 of Huntley, died peacefully at his home.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Diabetes Association.
James was born August 14, 1934 the son of Lawrence and Mildred McGuire. He served in the United States Navy. On June 11, 1955 he married Lorraine M. Bellezzo. He worked as a Police Officer for the Skokie Police Department. He was an avid Cub fan, a member of the Huntley American Legion, he played Bocce and was a member of the Italian Club. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him. His girls were his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lorraine, his beloved daughters, Linda (Brian) Griffey, Theresa ( the late Walter) Rybarczyk, Joanne (Tom) Dillon, by his 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his daughter, Marianne McGuire and by brother, Buddy and sisters, Betty and Millie.
