Peter D. Hoogestraat, 79 of Sleepy Hollow, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 11, 1938 in Chicago, the son of Peter H. and Sophie (Merz) Hoogestraat. He was united in marriage to Lenore R. Karpinski on January 2, 1977 in Bensenville. Peter worked for Sheet Metal Workers, Local #73. The couple made their home in Sleepy Hollow for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore of Sleepy Hollow, his children, Jeannette Hoogestraat and Peter (Chris) Hoogestraat both of Warrenville, Catherine Hoogestraat of Hanover, Illinois and Nicole (James) Dirks of Warrenville, his grandchildren, Olivia, Peter, Charlie, Wren, Isabelle and Amelia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Victoria and Maryanne.
