Obituary

Pamela J. Cranston, 57 of Algonquin, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore, Illinois on Thursday, May 3, 2018.

She was born November 26, 1960 in Evanston, Illinois, the daughter of John Robert and Georgiana (Lee) VanScoyoc. She grew up in Prospect Heights and graduated from Wheeling High School. She was united in marriage to Donald H. Cranston on November 12, 1983 in Arlington Heights. The couple lived for a time in Mundelein until moving to Lake In The Hills in 1989 and Algonquin in 1999. Pam taught at the Algonquin Preschool for many years. She was an avid Cubs fan, participated in a bowling league, enjoyed country music and camping. She loved time with her family and friends and adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Algonquin, her daughters, Rebecca (Jacob) Keltner, Amy Cranston and her fiancé, (Ryan Hoven) and Holly (Tirso) Castro Rodriguez all of Crystal Lake, her grandchildren, Caleb, Carson, Milo and Max, her brothers and sister, Steven (Lorie) VanScoyoc of Arlington Heights, Debra (John) Maguire of Shiloh, Illinois and David (Lisa) VanScoyoc of Crystal Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service on Friday, May 11th at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 100 Hanson Road, Algonquin. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Light of Christ Church.
