William H. Cardwell, 79 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 following a short illness.
He was born August 26, 1938 in Chicago, the son of Louis and Grace (Pathius) Cardwell. He was raised and educated in Chicago, then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Gloria J. Fabianski on May 4, 1963. The couple made their home in Chicago and Bill worked for many years as a carpet installer for the Carpenters Union #1185. He later worked at the United States Post Office in Carol Stream, retiring in 2000. In 2003 the couple moved to Del Webb’s Sun City, Huntley and he enjoyed participating in many of the communities activities; computer club, photography club, playing golf, bocce and bowling. He will be fondly remembered by his many longtime friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria of Huntley, many nieces and nephews and good friends, Richard (Arlene) Pecor and Kathleen (Rudolph) Dinnocenzo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley and on Thursday, May 10th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
