Donna, and family; you two look alike, my heartfelt sorrow, way to young to pass, but now she is comforted by Frank. May the knowledge of God is always with you and your family. Blessings, Clare

18 Years Ago I became one lucky man. Melodie took a chance on me. We committed ourselves to each other before God, family, and friends on July 3, 2000. Not only was she my better half, she was a most excellent mom. On March 7th, 2002, we were blessed with a beautiful daughter –Jacquelyn. Melodie is an extravagant young woman. Not only is she beautiful, but she is so intelligent, strong, courageous, witty, has a fantastic sense of humor, and touches the heart of anyone who comes in contact with her. We have had many adventures. Melodie has always supported me as I have for her. It breaks me to have lost Melodie way too soon. I have lost my best friend. It is not understood to why God needed her now; but Jacquelyn and I both know that God has a plan and through Christ, we will be ok. It is going to be tough. We will miss Melodie dearly. But we will be reunited once again in Heaven. Melodie fought cancer like I have never seen before. Courageous and strong, Mel never allowed her illness to show nor define her. Mel lost her battle on Tuesday, September 4th. The strength and courageousness that Mel had shown all of her life has been passed to Jacquelyn. Mel and I have been so blessed with God’s gift of being parents to Jacquelyn.I pledge to God and Mel to always take care of Jacquelyn as we would. I will continue to reach out and listen. Thank you Mel, My best friend. I will not let you down. I promise to be the best father that I can be and to provide guidance to our daughter when needed. Love you with all my heart.

We will miss Mel dearly but smile always remembering the hours of playing Sequence and cards while our kids played, the parties, marathon movie nights, and the impromptu dinners from across our backyard. She was instrumental in making our times together so much fun and her laugh was contagious! God bless the memory of Mel and God bless you always Marty and Jacquelyn.

When my family moved to Burnham, Mel was one of the first people I met and we have been friends ever since. I was fortunate to know her and I am so very sorry to hear this news. My family and I send our deepest sympathy to the entire family.

Marty, when I try understand why Mel was chosen to fight this cancer for so long and why the Lord has chosen you and Jacquelyn to have know and loved her for just a short time... I can only go back to the scripture in Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” He (our Lord) loves her more then anyone and has used her to point to Him. I pray comfort to you and Jacquelyn thru this time of sorrow. We love you guys!

How can I mend this broken heart? You were my person. The one I would always turn to when I needed a best friend. You never judged and always understood me. We could laugh and always be ourselves. I will miss you so much but I know you will be there when god calls for me one day. Thank you for all your love and support. You will always be in my heart. This sister circle can never be broken. Melodie, you are my hero. I love you.
