Obituary

Deborah L. Bencko, 51 of Lake in the Hills, died peacefully on October 21, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Deborah was born December 18, 1966 the daughter of Chuck and Jean (Wilson) Lake. On March 14, 1992 she married the love of her life, Robert Bencko. Deborah worked at Huntley Community School District 158, most recently as a program aide for test accommodations. She loved planting flowers, cooking, baking, watching Hallmark movies, and celebrating Christmas. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, and mother who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Brandon, Kyle, and Meghan; her parents, Chuck and Jean (Wilson) Lake; her mother-in-law, Janet Bencko; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Laurie Bencko Carpenter, Dave Bencko, Sandy (Skip) Lombardo, and John (Jennifer) Bencko, Jr; and by countless nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Bencko, Sr.
A Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00am until the 10:00am Mass, all at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Her remains have been donated to further cancer research. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Deborah Bencko at dana-farber.org/gift.
