Obituary

John Patrick DeFiore, 49 of Chicago, died peacefully at his home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:30pm Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00pm at DeFiore Jorgensen funeral home 10763 Dundee Road-Huntley. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Shriner’s Children Hospital or American Diabetes Association.
John was born August 9, 1963 year in Chicago, Illinois the son of Robert and Carol (Byrne) DeFiore. John graduated from St. Patrick High School and worked for the Cook County Sheriff for over 20 years. John lived his whole life with health struggles but that never stopped him from accomplishing all he set his mind to do.
John is survived by his parents, Bob and Carol DeFiore of Huntley, brother, Bob DeFiore (Sharon) of Chicago, sisters, Julie Arza (Jorge), of Crystal Lake, Mari Kaiser of Lindenhurst, Carol Lynn DeFiore of Huntley. He also leaves behind his 9 nieces and nephews, Jessica, Samantha, Nicholas, Vincent, Marisa, Joe, Bennett, Olivia and Johnny. He is also survived by his two Aunts, Marlene Sylvester and Sr. Carol DeFiore and many cousins.
John is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mae Byrne and Robert and Mamie DeFiore.

Dear Folks, I am so sorry to learn about John - Bill called me this afternoon. Katherine and I send you our warmest thoughts and hugs - I did enjoy the short amount of time that I spent with John. I am so sorry to hear about John. Yes, his whole life with health struggles but he was successful in life and proud to work for the Sheriff and it was always evident how much he loved all of us. Always kind with a smile and made the best of things. A wonderful man I will never forget Johnny Pat. My prayers are with you all. Love Lawrence Pat
