Obituary

Thomas A. Johnson, 76, of Huntley, died peacefully December 16, 2019
Visitation will be on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:30am at St. Mary Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday at Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary Boy Scout Troop.
Thomas was born December 24, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Chester and Rose (Keller) Johnson. On May 3, 1969 he married Mary Louise Keefe in Decorah, Iowa. He was a sales rep in the hardware industry for over 40 years. He was an avid reader, history buff and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was involved in scouting with his two sons and was an Eagle Scout himself. Tom played football in high school and helped his team win the State Championship in 1960. Most importantly Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, he was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Johnson, his sons, Marc (Melissa) Johnson and Michael (Julia) Johnson and by his grandchildren, Sarah, Alexandra, Owen and Ethan. He is also survived by his brother, George, (Susan) and sister, Judy (Mel).
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Katherine and brother, Chester.

Tom and his wife, Mary, have been friends for many years -- since our boys were born! We will miss his fun loving spirit and our getting together times, all too precious and now beautiful memories. God bless you all and warm thoughts and prayers from Florida.
