Manychanh (Phongsavanh) Insisiengmay, age 71, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2020 at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington, Illinois. Her funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 2, at Defore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road in Huntely, Illinois. The service is from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Additional service at Wat Lao Buddharam of Northern Illinois, 11 N 135 Burlington Road, Hampshire, IL on Friday, January 31 at 5:00pm.
She was born on January 1, 1949 in Laos, Asia. She was united in marriage to Sisvang Insisiengmay in 1968. Both Manychanh and Sisvang made the difficult decision to leave their friends and family and build a new future in the United States with their two children, Siy and Pravina, in 1976.
In her spare time, Manychan loved watching Asian soap operas, eating authentic Lao food and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Sisvang, two children, Siy (Stacey) Insisiengmay and Pravina, and three grandchildren, Carlos Perez, Christian Insisiengmay and Isabelle Insisiengmay.
