Kyle M. Murray, 23 of Lake in the Hills, died suddenly, February 26, 2020
Kyle was born May 24, 1996 the son of Ronald and Carolyn (Cornwall) Murray. He graduated from Huntley High School in 2014 and later attended Elgin Community College and Loras College. He could brighten any room and went out of his way to make people feel good. He loved golfing, grilling, and making people laugh. He was a loving boyfriend to Megan and the best dog dad ever to Charlie. He was a devoted son, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Kyle is survived by his parents, Ron and Carolyn Murray, his brother, Connor (AJ Kutches), grandmothers, Alice Cornwall and Judith Murray, his uncles, Brian Murray and John Cornwall. His girlfriend, Megan Jennings and beloved Charlie. Also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Cornwall and Ronald Murray and his amazing Aunt Wendy.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 4-8pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 5, 2020 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Association at https://www2.jdrf.org

Kyle this will be the hardest thing for me to write so far in my life. The pain we are all feeling is suffocating. You was not just my best friend but you was my hero. The Joy the you’d bring to every situation was admirable and kept me going a lot of the time. The random videos you’d send me of you rocking out to my music would bring me out of any funk I was in. Murray Family & Friends, My deepest condolences with the loss of Kyle. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend services, as I am not local this week. As you know Kyle came to Elgin Country Club as a young boy. He was well mannered, personable, and an extremely hard working kid! Over the last (9+) years it has been a joy to watch Kyle grow into an equally as great young adult. Caddy’s and members spend a lot of time together; due to the amount of time looping eighteen holes strong friendships and bonds between caddy’s and golfers are almost inevitable. I can say with great confidence, Kyle was one of the most pleasant individuals to partner with over the years. It’s hard to believe such a nice young man has been taken from this earth entirely too soon. May his kind demeanor, work ethic, and overall friendly personality be a lesson for those that have, and will continue to walk Elgin Country Club for many years to come. I am so very sorry to hear this heartbreaking news. I never had the pleasure of meeting Kyle but if he was anything like his father, I know he was a good man and someone who will be terribly missed. Your entire family will be in our prayers - you have our deepest condolences.
Kyle was an awesome person and will be deeply missed. I had the privilege of being with Kyle for 9 seasons at Elgin Country Club. I saw this scrawny tall youngster grow into a fine young man. For the last 5 - 6 seasons, Kyle was pretty much my exclusive caddie much to the chagrin of my fellow golfers. Many of them would complain that I had the best caddie at the club and I had an unfair advantage. It was true, Kyle kept me focused, calm, and could read a putt. I owe my success for many of the tournaments I won to Kyle, if we didn't win, we were in the mix. Most importantly were the non-competitive rounds of golf we shared. Every morning we would greet with a hug. Our walk would include discussions on golf, family, school, work, and life in general. During the round we would definitely share a lot of good laughs. At the end of the round we would thank each other for a great morning and end it with a hug. He was always there for me when he could and when he couldn't, he would be apologetic. I always told him not to be sorry, that he too had a life to spend with family and friends and golf was just a game to be shared and enjoyed with friends. During the eulogy, Father was describing Kyle's life and he used the word goofy. A big smile grew on my face as this was probably a common trait we both shared. I will remember Kyle for a long time as he made an impact on my life as I have been told I did the same. I want to thank Carolyn and Ron for raising such an amazing son. I also want to thank Megan for allowing Kyle to spend time with me on the weekends. God bless you all during this extremely difficult time.
From the very first time I met Kyle at a tournament baseball practice, I was impressed at how polite and respectful he was. Every time after that he would greet you with a handshake and ask how you were doing. This world would be a better place if people were more like Kyle. So very sorry for your loss!
