Kathleen Mary Brakebill, 65 of Pingree Grove, died peacefully March 12, 2020.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 4-8pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in Huntley Cemetery.
Kathleen was born December 17, 1954 in Chicago. On September 23, 1996 she married John T. Brakebill. She worked at Dearborn National Insurance Company. She enjoyed her job and was somewhat of a homebody. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, John, her children, Christine (Joe) Fiore and Michael (Vanessa) Gradziel, by her grandchildren, Joseph, Katlyn, Bella, Layla, Ariella, Hudson and Holden. She is also survived her sisters, Barbara (Bob) Kruk and Patti Piwowarczyk.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda.

Patty and Barb I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. A sister is someone who is there for you when no one else is. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Very sorry for your loss. Kathy and I have the same employer. I dont believe I ever met Kathy in person, as I am located in Michigan, but she has assisted me many times via phone and email. She was always greatly consciencious and a pleasure to work with. She will be missed by many.

Kathy was my supervisor for over four years. In that time I came to respect her a great deal and value her opinion. She had a good sense of humor and I will definitely miss her.

I was very sad to hear about Kathy. I had the privilege of working with Kathy for the past 8 years and always found her to be positive and willing to help out in any way she could. She was a very kind and considerate and always expressed how much she loved her family. She will certainly be missed.
I am so sorry for your family's loss of Kathy. Kathy and I have worked together for many years, mostly by phone and email, as I'm in Dearborn's Belleville office. The couple times she visited our site, we had great conversations! I could count on Kathy to "iron out" certain work-related issues! She will be missed!

It is with a heavy heart that we write this note about Kathy. Kathy never said no to a request to help our teams and will work with her team to come up with a way to make it happen. She was always available to provide guidance and assistance for improvements. She added great value to our teams and we’re all very sad to hear about her passing. I am so very sorry about the loss of my cousin, Kathy. My condolences to you, Barb and Patty, and to Kathy's husband, children and grandchildren. It's unfortunate that we didn't get together much when we got older, but I will always have fond memories of us playing together when we were kids. Prayers for Kathy and all of you. God bless.
I'm so terribly sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. I worked with her at Dearborn Life Insurance Company, albeit remotely (Richardson, Texas) but did have occasion to meet her in person a few times. She was always personable and helpful, leaving a positive impression on everyone she touched. I respected her very much, both on a professional level and a personal level. Her presence here will be missed.
