Cheryal Ann Callahan, of Huntley, died in her home on April 7, 2020.
Cheryal was born on April 6, 1957 in Chicago to parents Clayton and Virginia (nee Strickland) Hogston.
Cheryal was fondly remembered by her family as an animal lover. She proudly supported ASPCA every month and was passionate about rescuing cats. She loved gardening and spending time outside in the sun. She served as Village President of Carpentersville and Village Administrator of Gilberts, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of PACE. Cheryal was fun-loving, light-hearted, adventurous and she loved to travel. She had a generous spirit and never hesitated to help anyone in need. Her many adventures include skydiving, swimming, and parasailing. Cheryal was a devoted mother to her children, and they meant the world to her. She married Jim on December 4, 1995, and their marriage was filled with love and many happy memories.
Cheryal is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jim, her daughter Christina Miller, her son John Miller, her step-children Audrey Shepherd and Sheila Rodriguez, her brother Richard Hogston, her nephews Darrin Bartley and Randy Adkins, and her beloved cats, Batman, Chloe, and Phoebe.

Cheryal was my oldest friend. I treasure the memories I have of her over the years. My deepest sympathies to Jim, Chrissy and John.

I just saw this a year later. I worked for Cheryl in Gilbert's before moving to Georgia. Prayers to her family and so sorry for this news. Cheryal was a wonderful lady and so many fond memories of her, may she rest in peace
