Susan Catherine Borucki, 44 of Crystal Lake, died peacefully, April 13, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born May 1, 1975 the daughter of Stan and Victoria Borucki. Susan was a Senior Planner for the McHenry County Department of Transportation. Susan Received her degree in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University graduating summa cum laude. She was a graduate of Oswego High School, Class of 1993 and Valedictorian. Susan grew up in Boulder Hill/Montgomery, IL.
Susan was committed to giving back to her community. She was a faithful bell ringer for the Salvation Army and she also volunteered at BraveHearts and Senior Services.
Susan had a heart of gold and was a caring kind person. She was a dedicated and supportive friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She was a loving daughter, sister, niece and friend.
She leaves behind her loving parents, Stan and Vicky Borucki, her brother, Paul(Melissa) Borucki and many aunts, uncles and cousins and close friends (Liz and Bob). She was preceded in death by her grandparents and by her Uncle Desi, Uncle Joe and Aunt Nancy.

There is only one thing we disagreed with Susan about and it was that she would not call us Bob and Rita no matter how many times we asked her to. So now we say rest in peace, dear Susan, with love from Mr. and Mrs. Everhart

Very sorry for your loss. I met Susan through Bob & Liz. Very sweet gal! She meant so much to Bob and Liz. They did their best to take care of her during her hardest time. Prayers to your family during this difficult time.
I babysat both Paul and Susan many years ago. They were both one of my favorite families to watch. Always a lot of fun and very nice and respectful. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Susan's parents as they were great parents and friends to our family over the years in Boulder Hill/Montgomery. May God guide you in this time of sorrow and may Susan have peace and know that she was loved by all.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I grew up across the street/court from Susan and her family. They were always very gracious to me and I have a lot of fond memories of that time. I appreciate Susan and her family letting me play basketball in their driveway when I was little. Prayers to you and your family.

Susan was a truly special person. I had the privilege and honor of having been able to work with her over the course of the past few years at the McHenry County Division of Transportation. I had actually known her previously in that while she was a member of the McHenry County Health Department, she had made multiple presentations (at my request) to my Sons' Boy Scout Troop on multiple topics. We shared many discussions regarding: work, volunteer opportunities we each took up, religion, politics, pets. and Family. We shared many Parental experiences, as each of ours were older, with many common situations. I know that she was very close to her Family members, and that she will be greatly missed by them and us. I recently watched as she bravely fought off Cancer, working from home, returning to work, and then needing to try to do it all again. We had just finished up working on a project that had taken a great deal of her effort and energy, the ADA plan for the County, and she displayed the same vim, vigor, and enthusiasm for it, as she did for all of her work. She was a tireless worker, and a phenomenal presenter. There is a special place in Heaven for her, and now she is there. Peace to you Susan, and to your Family.
I had the privilege of working with Susan these past few years. My desk is right next to hers. She was a truly wonderful person and there is a hole in my heart every time I walk past her desk. My prayers go out to her family. Rest in peace my dear.
May her spirit touch many others beyond here on Earth. She was a wonderful woman to work with here at McHenry County DOT. Always very friendly, enthusiastic and willing to give it her all. My sincere condolences to the Borucki family. I believe that the late Maya Angelou said it best. "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel". Susan was an angel!
I am so saddened by her loss. She was a wonderful person to work with, to make changes that have positively effected peoples lives. Her positive attitude and impactful work will live on. I feel blessed to have known her and to call her my friend.
I worked with Susan for several years at the MCDOT. She was so dedicated to helping others especially those in need. Through her generosity, she was able to touch those needing help as well as those working by her side. She will be missed but her life left a lasting positive impact on so many. May you rest peacefully with God.
I had the privilege of working alongside Susan at the DOT. She was such a professional, highly intelligent, and dedicated to her job. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. Rest in piece Susan.
Though we haven't been able to see each other for quite awhile, please know that we've been praying for Susan and Stan and Vicky since we first heard of Susan's health issues. My sincere condolences to the Borucki family. I worked with Susan at the Health Dept. She was very dedicated to her work; and she adored her family. She told me of her volunteer work with the Salvation Army; and so, I decided to be a bell ringer also. May she Rest In Peace.

I have been a neighbor (and friend) to Susan for many years. Her yard and house continues to be the envy of the neighborhood. The hard work susan (and her parents) put into her yard and house was exemplary. I asked for her advice on my flowers for my yard numerous times. The best memories I have of Susan was when we played tennis. She and I were pretty much equal on the court so it was great exercise and fun. We had nice talks during this time. She was a very sweet person and will be missed immensely.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Susan. We lived across the street from her and then down the street for many years. Susan was such a kind smart woman. We always have a chat when she was out walking her dog. I am so sorry for her parents, and brother. She will be missed in our neighborhood.
