Wiedemann, Donald of Sun City, Huntley, died peacefully, Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Rainbow Hospice Ark. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road-Huntley. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to School Sisters of Saint Francis 1501 Layton Blvd. Milwaukee, WI 53215 or H.O.M.E. - Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for Elderly- 1419 W. Carroll Ave, Chicago ,IL 60607.
Don was born October 27, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Joseph M Wiedemann and Anna Zittman. He attended St. Philomena grade school and graduated from St Phillip high school. He married the late Nancy Paul on April 17, 1952. He served as president of Joseph M Wiedemann and Sons, Inc for many years.
He is the loving father of Leanne M. Wiedemann (Robb Krumlauf), Dianne Raleigh (Larry Christ), Joanne L. Wiedemann-Wolf (David Wolf), John J. Wiedemann (Jane). He is also the grandfather of, Daniel and Christopher Raleigh, Matthew Krumlauf, Alexander, Alyssa and Ashley Wiedemann. He is survived by his brother, Joseph R Wiedemann Sr and sister Lorraine Handler. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John W Wiedemann and his daughter Joanne Terese Wiedemann, our angel, who died in 1957 at 5 months of age. He served in the army, during the Korean War and for many years was an active member of St Vincent de Paul Society, the treasurer of H.O.M.E and a supporter of many other charities. He loved to fish and hunt and to play cards and dominoes with anyone willing and able. He will be missed by many.

I can 't remember meeting a nicer man. Don was always looking for ways to help me in my business. I had the great fortune of being able to sit down with him a few times to discuss his business and mine. My thougths and prayers are with the entire family. We have lost a great man.

To The Wiedemann Family, I was very sorry to hear of the death of Don Wiedemann. My family has known the Wiedemann family for many years. My brother, Fr. Ted Cirone. wemt to school with Joe and my brother Tony, went to school and was a good friend of John. I usually met Don and Nancy, at the Alvernia Memorial Mass. We exchanged warm greetings, and talked about our two families. My prayers are with your family at this difficult time.
