Jessie M. Ocasio, 82 of Huntley, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock following a sudden illness.
She was born October 21, 1928 in Salts, Kentucky, the daughter of Jesse and Cora (Blair) Walden. She was raised in a foster home and at the age of eighteen relocated to Chicago. She was introduced to Juan Ocasio and the couple became lifelong partners. Jessie had worked as a machine operator for various manufacturing firms over the years retiring in the late 1980’s. She was a very strong and determined woman, especially loved her family, found the good in everyone and enjoyed sewing, and gardening, raising roses and vegetables.
Jessie is survived by her husband, Juan, her children, Juan (Dana) Ocasio Jr., all of Huntley, Wanda (Cliff) Colpitts of Canada, Patricia Riner of Rockford & James Riner, her grandchildren, Robert (Anna) Castillo, Juan Quinones, Geraldo (Mary) Quinones, Tamica Quinones and Nicholas & Ryan Colpitts, her great-grandchildren, Teresa, Tina, Junior, Kat, Savi & David.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th, at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in Huntley Cemetery.
