I took Water Classes with Doris. She was a gem -- always had a smile on her face and a flower in her hair. She had the most beautiful smile. Even when she had problems walking and was experiencing pain she always smiled and had a kind word. We often shared many cat stories. When we were in class John would be in the lap pool and we would tell Doris -- "Your boyfriend is over there." She would smile and wave to him. They were a cute couple. I will miss Doris and her smile. My deepest condolence to your entire family on the loss of your parents.

Doris and I were in water class together. I loved her! She had such a warm smile, and was so much fun. I also saw your Dad quite often at the health club. Such a wonderful couple. I will truly miss her. She was one of my favorites. I loved when she came to class with a flower in her hair. She was a ray of sunshine! My condolences to all who loved her. ❤️

To the family I extend my fondest condolences. Doris will be missed from seeing her smiling face as she entered the pool for water exercise , always with a flower in her hair. Her strong belief in God which she shared freely. The class always waved to John as he passed by across the pool. Love & prayers for my dear friends & to the family.

Doris was my older cousin and although we didn't see each other often, she was always interested in what was going on with my family. Several years ago she made a special trip to Toledo to visit my mother who was in a nursing home at the time. A really sweet lady who will be missed.

We met Doris and John when we moved here to the Maples. I was in the Book Club with Doris. She was a lovely, thoughtful lady. I know our group will miss her. I will miss waving to John as I drove past their home. Jane

I am so saddened by your loss. Doris was in my water exercise class for at least 15 years!!! She was one of the original participants in the “infamous “ 11:00 Arthritis Water Exercise Class. It was very difficult to get a space in that class, but Doris, being a member of the club, could always get in. She never missed a day. In fact, when she did, we would worry about her and someone would always call to check in to see if she was alright. While Doris took class, John would swim laps. All us ladies would try so hard to talk John into joining us, but he was set on doing his laps. When he finished, he was there to help Doris get ready. They were such a cute couple. You could see they truly loved one another. It is a blessing that they left this world together. Our class will never be the same without Doris. She always had a smile on her face, a flower in her hair, and an upbeat positive attitude!!! I am going to miss her. I am so thankful that all of us in that class have so many wonderful memories of Doris and John. They may not be here, but they will NEVER be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you and the entire family. May you all find comfort knowing that your loved ones are now forever in God’s care.
