Susan Meadows Brown, 78, of Yorktown, Virginia, formerly of Princeton, Illinois, died peacefully in her daughter’s home on December 15, 2020.
Susan was born on November 28, 1942 in Beckley, West Virginia to parents Clarence and Nancy (nee Massie) Meadows. She married Frederick Brown on June 6, 1964 in Lewisburg, West Virginia and they spent 47 years together before his death in 2011. Susan was immensely proud of her family and of her heritage. Her father was the 22nd Governor of West Virginia and she was a proud member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She worked at/retired from Citizens First National Bank (now known as Heartland Bank) in Princeton. She was very giving and friendly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Susan is survived by her children, Steve (Donna) Brown, and Katie (Mike) Masters, her grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Tyler, and Bayleigh, her siblings, Lynne (Robert) Roadarmel, and Helen Owen, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frederick Brown, and her sister, Nancy (Lester) Ghiz.

Cremation will be private at DeFiore Funeral Home with a memorial service being planned for a later date.
