Melissa Louise Johnson, 52, died peacefully on January 11, 2021, with her daughter and father by her side.
Melissa was born on May 15, 1968 in Rockford to parents Philip and Phyllis (nee Wendell) Ross. Melissa was sweet and kind and loved to spend time with her daughter, Amanda. Amanda was her closest friend and confidant, and Melissa loved to spoil her grandpups, Colby and Brax. She was an amazing cook and loved to find inspiration while watching the Food Network. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Melissa is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Dustin Miller) Johnson, her father, Philip (Susan) Ross, her siblings, Jaime (Mark) Mase, and Adam (Juli) Ross, her special nieces Hayley and Taylor, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Ross, aunts Judy Ross and Judy Wallschleager, and several cousins.
Cremation will be private with a memorial service being planned for a later date.

I will forever cherish all of the wonderful memories I have with Missy. She was a huge part of my life and acted as big sister for me at times and even though we didn't see much of each other over the last handful of years she always in my heart. Many blessings for all of the people who knew and cared for her. I will miss you forever Missy.
