I was shocked today when I found out he passed away 2 1/2 months ago. I called his cell and got a strange message from Global. I went online to look for what I hoped I would not find. This site. I met Billy in 2nd grade and went to kindergarten with Mary Lou. He was always a happy positive character. He always had ideas you could see him pull out of the cloud. His eyes would sparkle when he told a story, and he had many. He got to marry the prettiest girl at St. Viator's all the boys were in love with. I moved away to Florida after 7th grade and lost touch with him. My older sister Pat went to one of his famous reunions and told me he was around. I called him and found the lived 5 miles away from me, had been the the same house as long as I had, had 2 kids, had a great business and lost it and my story was the same. We got together and it was like we were never apart. It makes me think we will meet again. I hope not too soon. I hear the RIP messages but I don't think he can do that. He will be up there making some changes. Anyone that knows him will know that. We were not Saints here and have broken many if not all of the rules. But I can see him talking to St. Peter outside of the gates, and St. Peter going back in and out to check with our Father. Then giving into his smile and twinkle in his eye. I can almost see him in St. Peter's ear like Sargent Carter talking to Gommer, begging him to let his buddies in. He was a great salesmen. I will miss him until we meet again. I know God loves him! He has made many mistakes, and many good deeds to make up for them. I wish I could have said good bye, but look forward to saying I love you brother, again when we meet upstairs or in purgatory. Sorry for may rambling but IT's A BIG DEAL To ME!
I am at a loss here in a. number of ways as I was thinking of Billy today and was going to call him and check in and say hello. To find this really is something I never expected, his smile and attitude toward life was infectious. Yes he was at times a naughty boy, but a funny naughty boy. I will miss you my friend. My condolences to the family.
Found out today. So sorry to hear about Billy. I remember him as a kid to becoming a man. Loved his brother Joe. We were family.
I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I met him over 29 years ago playing flag football and I ended up watching my Cowboys win Super Bowl against Bills with Bill and Mary Lou and my then 6 month old son Matt. We had some great sports moments winning in football and softball championships, etc. He will be missed. Rest in Peace my friend-
