Obituary

Carol Elizabeth Barnes, 83, of Huntley, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 6, 2021.
Carol was born in Highland Park on September 16, 1937 to parents Leslie and Elizabeth (nee Mumper) McCaffrey. She married Leslie Barnes and they spent many happy years together before his death on June 1, 2012. A romantic at heart, Carol adored the Hallmark Channel. She could often be found reading or playing cards with friends. She was a devote Catholic, and adored her Celtic heritage. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Carol is survived by her children, Diane (Scott) Glait, Susan (George) Stephen, Robert (Laura) Barnes, Edward (Michele) Barnes, and Kathryn Barnes, her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Patrick), Kathryn, Lyall, Hannah, Emily, Megan, Nicole, Michael, Will, Rachel, Cole, and Jacquelyn, and her siblings, Virginia Johnson, and Ann Hinshaw.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Mass will be streamed live on the DeFiore Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/defiorefuneral/
Interment will be private at Windridge Memorial Park.
