Obituary

Lachlan A. Stewart, Jr., 88 of Huntley, died peacefully, February 8, 2021.
A private Funeral Service will be held at 1pm Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church which will be live streamed at TrinityHuntley.org. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church (Memo: Lachlan Stewart Memorial), 11008 N. Church Street, Huntley 60142 or a charity of one’s choice.
Lachlan (Lach) was born August 20, 1932 in Evanston, Illinois the son of Lachlan A. and Gladys A. Stewart. He married Gladys M. Jost on May 1, 1954. Lach worked for Illinois Bell until his retirement in 1981. He was a devoted servant to his hometown of Glencoe as a volunteer fireman and a member of the Glencoe Lion’s Club. He was a hardworking man and always diligent about maintaining their home, yard and garden. In 1999, Lach and Gladys moved to Sun City in Huntley, IL and Lach became active in the Sportsman Club, was an avid wood worker for the Woodchucks, and played Bocce for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys, his children, Art (Sandy) Stewart, Carol (Michael) Davidson, and Betty (Ric) Fogle, by his grandchildren, Lisa, Kim, Jessica, Ben, Jeremy, Rebecca, Michelle and Kristy and by his great grandchildren, Lily, Ellie, Nolan, Andrew, Maddie and Josh.
Lachlan was preceded in death by his parents.

So sorry that Lach has passed. We will miss him as a long time neighbor, friend, Pinochle partner and a great person to know. Gladys and family, you are in our prayers and thoughts. May you be comforted by knowing he is at peace and without pain. We will miss him a lot.

Gladys, I am so sorry to hear of Lach’s passing. I remember the great times we had together in Palm Creek. Will always remember Lach as a soft spoken man, a man of few words but when he spoke, you wanted to listen. He always wore a smile and was kind. Our sincere sympathy and condolences to you and your family.

So sorry for your loss Gladys. I will always remember our Lion's club activity's and volunteer fire dept days with Lach . As well as growing up with our church family in Glencoe . My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
