Obituary

Lora Lee “Toot” Penrod, 83 of Loves Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Maple Crest Health Care in Belvidere.
Lora Lee is survived by her children, Dennis (Rae Ann) Penrod, Gary (Kim) Penrod, Marla Cedillo and Rodney (Cathy) Penrod, her grandchildren, Denny Ray (Courtney), Jackie, Samantha (Dan), Garrick (Courtney), Robert (Alyssa), Jessica (Tommy), Hunter and Austin, her great-grandchildren, Mason, Cheyenne, Colton, A.J., Garrin, Brinley, Everleigh, Paisley and Jensen. Lora Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jean Golden, her brothers, Jim Edwards Jack Edwards and by her son, Randy Penrod.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10 from 10 a.m. – noon at the DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will follow at the Huntley Cemetery. A Celebration of Life to follow at Nikos Red Mill Inn at 1040 Lake Avenue in Woodstock, IL 60098. There's so many words, yet it's difficult to say how you feel when you lose someone. Toot was not blood, but she was part of my family. I grew up with all of the amazing Penrods, was babysat, was at and participated in weddings, later babysat her grandkids, and always have had a special place in my heart for one of my Aunt Becky's closest friends. I am truly sorry and so saddened by your loss. Toot was a HOOT! She will be missed by SO many, but the memories will last forever.

I am so sorry to hear of your lose. Our family's were very close in those days. Lots of good memories. She was a great person.. I am so glad we got to meet her again at Maplecrest. Our mom is there also. She has Parkinson and dementia. We were able to bring the 2 together for a short visit. Then Covid hit. God Bless you all.
