Obituary

Bruno H. Rogalski, 75 of Huntley passed away at his home on Monday evening, February 11, 2013, surrounded by his family.

He was born November 22, 1937 in Chicago, the son of Bernard and Mary (Wozniak) Rogalski. He graduated Trinity High School and later from Wright Junior College. He was united in marriage to Gail A. Spidale on October 15, 1966. The couple made their home in Chicago for a time before moving to River Grove in 1970. Bruno had been an insurance agent for MetLife and later was the Chief Clerk for the Cook County Board of Tax Appeals, retiring in the late 1990’s. In his early years; he served as the Precinct Captain for the 31st Ward of Chicago and was an associate member of the New Melleray Abbey Trappist Monastery. In 1999, he and his wife moved to Huntley, he worked as a tax consultant for the Law Firm of Weis, DuBrock & Doody for a number of years, was a founding member of the the St. Vincent DePaul Society in Huntley, serving two terms as Vice-President. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Bible Study Group, was a Eucharistic Minister, a Minister of Care and had a very deep and unwaivering faith. Bruno especially enjoyed his children’s and grandchildren’s activities, was a huge Roy Rogers fan and enjoyed the Cubs and the Bears.

Bruno is survived by his loving wife, Gail of Huntley, sons, Michael (Sandy) Rogalski of Hawthorn Woods, David (Sandy) Rogalski of Alpharetta, Georgia, his daughter, Michele Simpson of Carpentersville, his grandchildren, Michael, Vincent, Harrison, Madison & Mya, his sister, Alice Ryan of Bartlett, sister-in-law, Gerladine Rogalski of Mishawaka, Indiana and his brother and sister-in-law, Michael (Arlene) Spidale of Des Plaines. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ted.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley and from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 14th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary – St. Vincent DePaul Society or to the University of Chicago for Cancer Research.

He was a special person and I did enjoy all the church activities I participated in with him, in the SVDP and also when we were Ministers of Care on the same team.
