John Stanislawski

Obituary

John C. Stanislawski, 82, of Huntley, died peacefully at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington on April 13, 2021.
John was born in Chicago on November 13, 1938 to parents Chester and Estelle (nee Nicpon) Stanislawski. He married Theresa “Terri” (nee Smietana), on November 14, 1959 and together they spent the next 62 years happily married. John and Terri purchased their home in Schiller Park in 1962 where they raised their family until they retired to Arizona in 1998. They moved back to Illinois in 2004 to be closer to their 8 grandchildren.

John was active, he loved to golf, bowl, and was an excellent polka dancer, as well as coaching baseball and football for his son. He was incredibly proud of his Polish heritage and was a big fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Blackhawks.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa Stanislawski, his children, Richard (Kathy) Stanislawski, Susan (Rich) Cristante, and Daniel (Chris) Stanislawski, his grandchildren, Michael, Danny, Stephanie, Anne, Ricky, Robert, Jillian, and Allison, and his siblings and siblings-in-law, the late Richard Stanislawski (Maryann), Wayne (Susan) Stanislawski, Edward (Joanne) Stanislawski, the late Barbara (Robert) Limbach, Pat (Don) Nawrocki, and Betty (Larry) Selsky.

Dad, there is no one I would rather have as my father-in-law, I remember the first time I met you and will never forget the day we had to say goodbye. I will miss smelling like your cologne for hours after hugging you, even though it annoyed me every single time :o), baking you dozens of chocolate cakes with double frosting through the years, you sitting in your chair at Christmas secretly opening your presents like a little kid; and let us not forget me yelling at you to wait your turn and so much more. I will miss you calling and asking 'Where's my little boy?' Like I told you Monday night, I got your little boy from here on out. You and Mom raised one helluva good man. When you see my Mom, and I know you will, tell her I love her and miss her every single day! Rest in Peace and don't break your wrists!! Love, Chris

Dad what can I say - I love you and always will be your little girl. I can still hear your voice telling me to “Be Careful and Love You” each time we talked on the phone or were together. You were an amazing grandfather to my sons and they adore you - they were your buddies and you were their cheerleader in all they did! You have always been a huge part of my life and I will miss you terribly. Forever your little girl, Susan ❤️

Terry and family. My condolences to you and your extended family on the loss of John. We shared many a good times back in the day, and remember the celebrations, golf outings, ball games, card games, and just good fun when we all were together. John’s smile and humor were contagious, a fun person to be around. I regret not being able to attend his Memorial, but the miles and a recent surgery has me on a short leash. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

Dear Brother, you have always been generous with your time, talents, expertise and opinions, but most of all your love, for your wife, children, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, family and friends. You have shown the way of familial love, dedication and support. I will always look to your memory for inspiration and guidance. You always gave me a mulligan. May you rest in the sleep of the just. With unending love, Ed.

Uncle John, you were one of kind, and always made me laugh when you were in my presence. Thank you for sharing your family with mine over the last 57 (+) years. My childhood memories spending time with all of the Stanislawski’s couldn’t have turned out better. You’ll be missed, but not forgotten. “Annie”

I was so sorry to hear from Don of John's medical trials and passing. We (and our brothers) were classmates at Weber HS, and I've notified the others from '56. We pray for and will remember John, Terri and the family.
