Obituary

Arlene F. Potempa, 82 of Huntley, formerly of Park Ridge, died peacefully, May 12, 2021.
A visitation will be on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Arlene was born June 1, 1938 the daughter of Chester and Josephine (Sabaj) Kostreva. In 1957 she married the love of her life and best friend, Richard G. Potempa (Rich). The two had four beautiful daughters and owned their own business for about 25 years.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who called her “Pammi”, a name given to her by her first granddaughter. She and Rich also enjoyed golfing, bowling and gambling.
She was a beautiful, devoted wife, and a loving, nurturing mother and grandmother (Pammi) who will be missed by all who knew her.
Arlene was survived by her husband, Richard, her daughters, Debbie (Gene) Walega, Laurie (Mark) Walter, Susan (Bill) Stephens and Lisa (Jim) Montori, by her grandchildren, Dana (Mike), Allyson, Jake, Samantha, EJ, Tyler, Zachary, Sabrina, Brock and Layne. She is also survived by her sisters, Lorraine Murroch and Joanne (Gary) Von Oehsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

My condolence to the family. I was able to share many Christmas celebrations with Arlene and here family and was able to see the love that she has for her family. She was always great to be with and made me feel at home with her and her family. I will always remember that and will miss her dearly.
