Obituary

Kenneth H. Kemnitz, 88, of Huntley, died peacefully at his home June 4, 2021.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home- 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, with a visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Huntley.
Kenneth was born November 14, 1932, in Chicago the son of Alfred and Elsie Kemnitz. He proudly served in the United States Army. On June 30, 1953, he married Nancy L. Hall. He worked for Illinois Bell as a PBX Installer until his retirement.
Ken was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a Chicago sports enthusiast for the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks and was thrilled when his beloved Cubbies won the world series. In his earlier days he enjoyed ski trips to Colorado with friends. He loved coaching his sons youth football and baseball teams in Hoffman Estates. Most recently he enjoyed reading and playing the organ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He never met a stranger!
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his children, Debbie (Craig) Mueller, Ken, Jr. (Susan), Kemnitz, Donna (Brian) Eld, and Gary (Sarah) Kemnitz. He is survived by his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Britta (Mike), Daniel, Kathryn (Andrew) and Michael and great grandchildren, Aileena and Everett. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Kemnitz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Edward Troester and brother, Norman.
