Obituary

Darryl Lee Clark, 82, of Huntley, formerly of Villa Park, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.
Darryl was born in Chicago on September 18, 1938, to parents Charley and Mae (nee Lindstrom) Clark. Darryl was a proud veteran of the United States Army and while attending a dance at the local American Legion, he caught the eye of Eleanor “Elly” Quinlan. Darryl and Elly wed on March 3, 1962, and have been happily married ever since. Darryl was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. His family meant the whole world to him, and he loved nothing more than his grandchildren. Darryl was a fiercely loyal friend who would do anything for anyone. He never met a stranger that he couldn’t strike up a conversation with. An avid baseball fan, it was not long before he could work the St. Louis Cardinals into the conversation. Darryl was a loving, caring, friendly, and positive man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Darryl is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Elly Clark, his children, Steve (Jodi) Clark, and Cheryl (Jim Keating) Clark, his grandchildren, Elena, Juliana, and Colin, and many nieces and nephews.
Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Mae (Robert) Ohlzen, and Charles (Betty) Clark.

So sad to see such a fun loving, sweet, happy man leave this world and his beloved family & friends. If you've had the pleasure to have known him , you know. Was lucky enough to just reconnect and got to see he & Elly a few weeks ago. The years melted away and we reconnected as if we just saw each other last week. It was delightful. Blessed to have known him, and my heartfelt sympathy to Elly, Cheryl, Steve and their families.

Dear Elly, My heart goes out to you and your family for this all too great a loss of Darryl. Especially so soon after having seen you both at Aunt Jeans memorial luncheon. There aren't enough words to describe how tragic a loss this must be to all of you. All I can say is hang in there, be strong and remembering him and all he meant to all of you will be enough to get you through and on with your lives. Love, Cousin Bob & Family
