Klaus Boblitz, 83, of East Dundee, died peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2021 surrounded by family.
Klaus was born in Berlin, Germany on April 17, 1938, to parents Harry and Grete (nee Felgner) Boblitz. He moved to Chicago at age 21. Klaus was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a dedicated employee of American Airlines for over 30 years, serving as the Regional Manager of Sales Promotions.
Klaus was athletic his entire life. His endurance and drive was an admirable quality. Even after being diagnosed with MS, he never let it get him down and continued to fight the disease like the athlete he was. Klaus was an avid bicycle enthusiast and enjoyed racing in his younger years. He played tennis multiple times a week as long as he was able and then he took strength classes at his local gym to remain active.
Klaus easily made friends everywhere he went with his outgoing personality while socializing and entertaining. Above all, he loved his family. Nothing made him happier than being with his children, grandchildren and extended family and friends. He was a very proud Opa and loved to show off new family photos on his phone. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Klaus is survived by his children, Robert (Tammy) Boblitz, and Michelle (Jim) Conti, and his grandchildren, Jimmy, Heather, Heidi, and Anna.
Visitation will be Friday, August 6, 2021 from 1 p.m. to time of memorial service 3 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Klaus's name can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America https://mymsaa.org/
