Jim McFadden( Bob's brother) 2021-08-05 17:09:20

Bob was the best brother anyone could ask for. He trusted me to go on the expressway for the first time in his cutlass, He taught me a work ethic with him delivering phone books (remember those) in his tan mustang and he showed me how to pee off a pontoon boat when people are going to swim there. I also have to say that I was the one who was saving Andrea and Laura from drowning at the gas dock by my quick action. Then I push Laura down the snow hill in the winter and into a laundry pole. Opps. Then Andrea broke my back sledding. Don't Worry I'M STILL OK (KINDA)

Phil McFadden (nephew) 2021-08-06 13:37:46

As a kid (and young adult) not many things were more exciting than heading to Uncle Bob's cottage. Boating, snowmobiling, golf carting, and just hanging out on the deck. Always a great time and he was always in a great mood. I'll always remember the boat supplies that "fell off the plane". He'll be missed for sure.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Although I lost touch with my cousins many years ago, I remember fondly the family get-togethers as a child with the McFadden clan. May your wife, children and grandchildren find peace in all your wonderful memories ; may your siblings Barb, Jim, Sharon Ken and Diane be surrounded by the Holy Spirit , and may the loving arms of Jesus welcome him home.

Martin Gibbons (Son-in-Law) 2021-08-07 09:07:47

Bob was the best Father-in-Law a guy could hope to marry into. I will miss him a lot. We are heartbroken that he is no longer with us but we are thankful for the time we had with him. He loved his family and we loved him. Every occasion we got together with him was enjoyable but the last two occasions with him will be cherished memories for my family now that he is gone. Father's Day 2021 and 7/24/21 on the lake in Wisconsin were the icing on the cake. I'm so glad the last two times were the best two times. We love you Grampa Bobby!

Sharon a knowles 2021-08-10 22:37:27

I would like like to share a few special memories with my brother Bob, My first best memory was when I was around 5 years old. I had a sprained ankle and was laying on the couch in the front room, Dad and the boys were ice skating on Janssen (this was 1963) Mom called them in for dinner, Bob came over and picked me up off the couch and carried me to the kitchen table and placed me in my chair. Next one: I was about 8 years old playing army with my friends. Had my lip split open by a steel rifle (fake) . Bob and Mom rushed me to the doctor in Bob's new car, Mom held one arm down, Bob held the other as the Doctor tried to stitch my lip with a giant needle with wire . Again this is 1966 or so. Big brother Bob, Chicago Cop, passing out stone cold on the floor! But he was there for me!! ( and the nurses). another funny memory was a Christmas party when Bob came in with scratch off lottery tickets for everyone, he passed around 20 tickets or so, and gave Jim and I the fake ones. We both thought we had won $10,000.00 each We fell for it hook, line and sinker! We couldn't be mad, it was just too funny! We have it on tape.. we've had so many great times, family parties, picnics, holiday celebrations. Bob had a lot of love and Joy in his life, and that's what matters most in this world. Rest Easy Big Brother, I'll see you on the other side. Sharon

Brother-in-law, yep no matter what, I called you that for almost 50 years. Never saw you without a smile. You always tried to make everyone laugh even when you weren't feeling so well. That was just you. I Just want you to know that you were the Very Best Dad. Your entire life was "Mike and Laura". And what a great job you did raising them. They loved the Lake, not because of the pontoon or the snowmobiles but because they were with "DAD" We all have so many "McFadden Memories" So thank you, "Bob McFadden" For letting us all have a little bit of you. I know God has you in the palm of his hand.

Our deepest condolences to the entire McFadden crew. Grandpa Bobby was a devoted grandfather and father as we saw through his devotion to the Gibbons girls. He will be missed but he will live on in your hearts..

"A good friend is hard to find" That's what Bob was to us. Miss him and hope your faith will take you through this. He could make us laugh and you felt good when you were with him...nothing more could be asked of a person here on earth.

Frank Dietz 2021-08-12 16:38:33

Bob earlier in our police careers we were partners for a couple of years. Those were some of the best times of my life. You were a great guy. Condolences to your whole family. Rest in peace.

Donna and Bob Proske 2021-08-13 10:51:07

Our sincere condolences to Bob’s family. We have great memories of Bob from our youth — fun times with the Ferns! Mike and Laura, your Dad loved being with you. Through the changing years, he made sure you had his love and time. And he certainly fought to stay with his loved ones as long as possible. A good guy — gone but never forgotten.

Mike Vesper 2021-08-13 13:41:02

To Joyce and family, my deepest condolences at Bobs passing. He was a great guy that I always enjoyed being with at Mob softball games, and the after games festivities were even more fun. It was always great seeing him at Mob Christmas parties as well. He and I would run into one another every now and then when he delivered flowers in the Antioch area. We always enjoyed talking about the softball games and life in general during one of our encounters. He was a great guy and I’ll miss seeing him at those instances. Family obligations keep me from attending today but Mac, and you all, are in my thoughts and prayers.

Carol Szymkowski 2021-08-13 16:05:28

My sincere sympathy to all of Bob’s family. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed.

We extend our heartfelt regrets to Joyce and to all of the McFadden family upon the loss of their beloved Bob. While Bob was working security at O`Hare Airport, we recall with grateful delight his smiling face and warm embrace as he greeted us upon our entrance to the terminal at O'Hare. We were about to depart for our vacation to Ireland. He told us that he had upgraded our departure tickets to First Class!! And he gave us vouchers to the VIP lounge for drinks and snacks to enjoy prior to departure. Talk about a stand-up guy! But that's who he was. May his soul rest in eternal peace and joy.
