Bruce A. Thesen, 70, of Pingree Grove, died, August 5, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 3:00 to 7:00pm with a time of sharing to be held at 6:30pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Willow Creek- Huntley at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
Bruce was born January 1, 1951, the son of Charles and Madeleine Thesen. He worked as an accountant until his retirement. Bruce was the guy you could always count on. He lived big and loved even bigger. He was a loud and proud Illini Fan. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, riding his bike and country line dancing. He was very inquisitive, had a love for pizza and was over the top about toilet paper. He will be most remembered for his kind heart and his unending love for his family. Bruce was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, his children, Jennifer (Glen) Flanagan, Amber (Shannon) King, Greg Thesen, Chuck Santoria, Mark (Sarah) Santoria, and Misty Darnell, 12 grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua, Atlanta, Savannah, Matthew, Madeline, Jurnee, Cyrus, Jensen, J, Ainslee and Avery and great granddaughter Elsie Rae. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Thesen. He was the fond uncle and brother-in-law of many.

We did so many things together through the years, trips to the cabin, family vacations, fantasy football, game and idol nights and many bike rides. Nothing is ever going to be the same without you Bruce. We will miss the the quirky, loving man that became a member of our family so many years ago. Debbie, we know the road will be hard for you, but know that Tom and I are here to help you through it all. To Jennifer, Greg, Amber, Misty, Chuck and Mark and your families, let the memories of your loving father and step-father comfort you. I have many wonderful memories of your Dad, but you all have so many more.
