Patrick L. Scharfe, 80 of Huntley died Thursday, March 7, 2013
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Rd. Huntley. And from 9:30-10:30am one hour before Mass at Church. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
Patrick Lawrence Scharfe was born April 26, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Edward and Margaret (O’Callaghan) Scharfe. He served in the United States Army as an airborne paratrooper. In 1954 he married Mary Walsh. He worked for State Farm Insurance Co. for 50 years. Patrick was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Celtic Club of Sun City and he enjoyed golfing, bowling and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Mary “Mickey”, his daughter, Peggy Tufts, Sons, Patrick T. Scharfe, Jim (Cindy) Scharfe. He is survived by his nine grandchildren: Patrick M.Scharfe, Shannon (Orrin) Kleinhenz, Phil Tufts, James Tufts, Michael Tufts, Jamie Scharfe, Pat Tufts, Jimmy Scharfe and Tiffany Tufts. Patrick is also survived by his brother, Robert (Nancy) Scharfe, and sister, Joan Iwinski and also by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret.
