Obituary

Donald Phillip Weissmann, 80, died on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Donald was born on January 17,1941, in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Charles and Dorothy (nee Bucheck) Weissmann. Donald was a US Navy Veteran, a lifelong union painter. He was also an avid bowler, and it was at a bowling banquet that he met the love of his life, Mary Ann. Donald married Mary Ann on December 3, 1966, and they spent the next 54 years happily married. Donald was a family man, first, last and always and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and nothing made him prouder than the successes of his family. He loved cars and could often be found at car shows admiring the convertibles. He was an active bowler with the Huntley Men's Bowling League, as well as being a former member of the maintenance committee at Sun City. He was an awesome and caring man who loved to make you smile and laugh with his silly sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and the world which was better off for him.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Weissmann, his children, Donald (Kristy) Weissmann, II and Mark (Julie) Weissmann, his grandchildren, Gabby (Ian), Brandon, Lily and Justin and his great-grandsons, James and Isaac.

Visitation will be Friday, October 1, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. to time of Memorial Mass 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Internment at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery to follow Mass.
