Dorothy Jane Oster, 95, of Algonquin, Il, formerly of Huntley and Des Plaines, died peacefully in her sleep on August 12, 2021, at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington, Il. Born June 19, 1926, in Chicago, IL., she is predeceased by her mother, Gram Holloway, a brother William Holloway and one daughter, Patricia Mueller.
Dorothy was a homemaker, loved to bake, garden, and entertain her family. She loved the outdoors, was a proud member of the Moose auxiliary and loved spending time with her family at their cabin in St. Germain, WI. Watching the Hallmark Channel was also one of her joys in life. She was a friendly, outgoing person who will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Lilia) Smith, and Cookie (John) Bzdusek, her grandchildren John Jr. (Heather), Shiloh (Isaias), Sarah (Daniel), and Tracy (Matt), and her nine great-grandchildren.
The family thanks those who visited her and gave her emotional support during her final days.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 3 p.m. to time of memorial service 4:30 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL, 60142.

I was sorry to hear about Dorothy’s passing. She was loved by many and had a heart of gold, especially when it came to her family. But I have to add that she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Oster.

So very sorry…she was so full of life…the best Aunt ever…..Loved by so many…condolences to my cousin’s Tom and Cookie and the rest of the family….keeping you all in my prayers
