Obituary

Marsha Jo Carter, 75, of Huntley, died peacefully on October 11, 2021, in Huntley.
Marsha was born in Elkhart, Indiana on October 1, 1946, to parents Raymond and Betty Joan (nee Hittle) Mott. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Middlebury High School and went on to receive her associate degree at Butler University where she was a proud Alpha Chi Omega. On August 31, 1969, she married Robert Carter and together they raised their two children, Jason, and Jill. Marsha loved being a mom and supporting her children in all their endeavors. She loved to watch their soccer games and ballet performances. She was loving, patient, and supportive. She was always there for you if you needed her and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Marsha is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Carter, her children, Jason (Lori) Carter, and Jill (Craig) Stanley, her grandchildren, Grace, Josie, Jack, Avery, and Max, her sister, Sally (James) Shoup, and her best friend since the first day of school, Julie Bontrager.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 9 a.m. to time of funeral service 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 236 W. Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake.
Burial will be Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Middlebury, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marsha’s name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://www.alz.org/

I was so sad to hear of Marsha’s passing. We were neighbors when I was little on Wolf Run Circle. Marsha was always so sweet to me and so caring.
