Obituary

Lorraine A. Hollatz, 97, died peacefully on October 14, 2021, in Bartlett.
Lorraine was born on July 25, 1924, in Chicago to parents Joseph and Bernice (nee Ruhnke) Gonia. She married Henry Hollatz in 1955 and they spent the next 13 years happily married before his death in 1968. Lorraine was devoted to raising her children and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She served as the president of the Young at Heart Club at St. Isidore as well as the secretary of the Polish Women’s Alliance. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Maria (Jim) Gisseler, Cathy (Martin) Fitzsimons, and Henry (Kim) Hollatz, her grandchildren, Christopher (Tess), Adam (Bethany), Brendan, Kristin, Rachel, and Michael, her great-grandchildren, Katie, Joshua, and Evelyn, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Hollatz, and her brother Joseph Gonia.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 4 p.m. to time of prayer service 6:30 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Mass will be Thursday, October 21, 2021, with a visitation from 9 a.m. to time of mass at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 297 E. Jefferson Street, Hampshire.
Inurnment to follow mass at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, 6800 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles.
