Michael J. Farrar, Sr. 64, of Huntley, died peacefully, November 11, 2021.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 4-8pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Huntley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
Michael was born November 20, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois the son of William and Laverne Farrar. On September 3, 1973, he married Epifania Maria Rangel. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked as a roofer and later in roofing sales. He was charismatic, kind and loving. Michael loved helping people and was always there to lend a hand. He was a great comforter and listener. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. Mike will be remembered as a great and kind guy. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Michael(Michelle) Farrar, Matthew Farrar, Michelle (Jordan) Huff, Jennifer Farrar, Christine (Chris) Sumner and by Gia Farrar. By his ten grandchildren, Gabriella, Dontae, Brandon, Breanna, Michael III, Hunter, Kimari, Liam, Grace and Aiden. He is survived by his brother, William, Jr. (Connie) Farrar, and sister, Jean Marie (William) Doyle and by his Godson, Ronnie Tomasek, Goddaughter, Samantha Farrar and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife, Epifania and brother, Steven.

This one hurts he was my cousin but grew up calling him uncle!! He was a great man and will be missed dearly!!! I was blessed to have a couple conversations with him in the last year and it was like we never skipped a beat!!! To the family I love you all so much and I'm so sorry for your loss!!!

We spent morning with Mike when he would take Kimari to the bus stop. He spoke with so much love and pride about all his grandchildren. May all the memories bring smiles and joy to everyone's heart
I was so sad to hear of the passing of my dear neighbor and friend. I had been out of town and am sorry I was unable to attend his funeral. Mike was one of the best and caring people I have ever known. I will miss him dearly.
