Michael M. Mulcahy, 79, of Huntley, died peacefully, November 16, 2021
Visitation will be on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at DeFiore Funeral Home- 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 1pm at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or St. Mary/ St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Michael was born March 27, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois the son of Maurice and Margaret Mulcahy. On January 30, 1965, he married Susan Otto. From 1958 until 2003 he worked for Wallace, starting out working on the docks and working his way up to retire as Executive Vice President. He was a golfer, a fisherman and traveler, he also enjoyed fantasy football, the White Sox, the Bears, the Bulls, and the Blackhawks. He was an avid Notre Dame Football fan. He was a lover of music and dancing and was a member of St. Mary's Choir. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at his log cabin in Wisconsin. He was a loving husband, father, Papa, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his Wife, Susan, his children, Laura (Fran) Zappitelli ,Erin (Paul) Carey, Bridget Mulcahy, Michael (Heather) Mulcahy, Kate (Dom DiPasquale) Mulcahy, by his grandchildren, Adelle Burton, Lauren Zappitelli, Kara Zappitelli, Margaret Wickersham, Julie Zappitelli, Mackenzie Wickersham, Colin Carey, Ryan Carey, Finn Mulcahy, Maeve Mulcahy, Nunzio DiPasquale, Weylin Mulcahy, Talulla Mulcahy, Iris DiPasquale and by his siblings, Eileen Mulcahy, James Mulcahy, and Maurice (Bud) Mulcahy.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Patrick and John Mulcahy.

I am so very sorry to read this news this morning. Mike always welcomed Jake, Cora and myself with open arms and such love and kindness. He loved his family to its fullest and enjoyed every memory they all made together. There will be a void in their hearts. I love you all!

Susan, I can’t believe Mike is gone. He was just singing with me and the other tenors a week ago. I will miss his smile and how friendly he always was. Sue, what a rush of vivid memories! We fondly hold Big Mike forever in our hearts and sadden for your loss. Mike affected our days positively starting in Wallace Clinton IL Plant and continued onward in Elk Grove and St Charles. Mike 's of love the business and genuine personal interest in all of us is likely unsurpassed by anyone I have worked for.
