Richard S. Jason, 75, of Huntley, died peacefully, December 4, 2021, with his family by his side.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 10:00am on Friday at St. Mary Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Richard was born November 26, 1946, in Chicago, the son of Stanley and Angelina Jason. He was the youngest of three brothers. From early on in his life he was affectionately known as “Grampy.” He married Barbara Bocik in 2008. He worked as the Food and Beverage Manager at the Grand Victoria. Rich was very athletic he was a great bowler, but his passion was golf. He never knew a stranger; he was loved by all who knew him. He was a dedicated and devoted father to his son. In the last days of his life, surrounded by family brought lots of tears and laughter. He was a loving husband, father, grampy and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Barb, his son, Richard S. Jason II (Gwynn), CJ (Emily) Montgomery, by his grandchildren, Richard S. Jason, III, Micheline Jason and Mason Montgomery, by his brothers, Vic (Barb) Jason, Nick (Sherri) Jason. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Sue, Pam, Derek, Brian, and Mark. And by his beloved Molly.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents and the late Bailey.

Rich was a man that I admired. He cared so deeply for my brother and sister, I’ll be forever grateful them getting him as their grandfather. There was no love stronger than his love for both Richard and Micheline. He was the best, period. He will be sorely missed.
