Inge W. Scheere, 81, of Huntley, died peacefully at her home December 4, 2021, with her family by her side.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home with a service being held at 7pm.
Inge was born February 28, 1940, in Memel, Germany, the daughter of Willy Otto and Grete Luoise Bakschas. On August 11, 1973, she married Herbert H. Scheere. She worked as an inspector for Knowles Electronics, and later, she and Herbert owned and operated a German Deli in Franklin Park. Inge always had a warm and kind smile and loved the interaction with her customers, which in many cases became her friends. After the deli, she worked at West Leyden High School cafeteria, where she was well loved, and everyone’s “mom”. She enjoyed traveling, trying her luck on slots and always up for a game of Rummikub. One of her favorite things to do was an afternoon swim with her Sun City friends. She had a great sense of humor and a positive spin on life. Inge lit up a room with her smile. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, Oma, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.
Inge is survived by her husband, Herbert, her children, Renee (Jim) Dickens, Walter Jung, and Melanie (Dave) Ressler, by her grandchildren, Jackie (Dave), Andrew and Abby, by her sister, Elke (Klaus) Toepfer and their son, Andreas (Iris), sister-in-law, Monika Schroeter and her children, Yvonne, and Stefan.
She is preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Dieter Schroeter.
