Norman Swanson - SERVICE RESCHEDULED

Obituary

Norman “Norm” L. Swanson II, 81, died peacefully on December 7, 2021, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
Norm was born in Chicago on December 28, 1939, to parents Norman L. and Mary Agnes (nee Moran) Swanson I. Norm is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Carol Swanson, his children, Edward (Lisa) Swanson, Norman “Bud” (Tina) Swanson III, and Lori (Neil) DeBlock, his grandchildren, Matthew, Michael (Jennifer), Bryan, Joseph (Renee), Mark, Angelina, Theresa, Jessica (Ben), Joseph, and Vince, and his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Elena, Veronica, and Owen.

Carol, Lori, Bud and Ed, I feel privileged to have been able to get to know Norm and your family over all these years and be a part of so many family gatherings over the years. Norm was always kind and sweet to me and to Ryan and he always treated Ryan like an adopted grandson which Ryan loved. I enjoyed his jokes and his sense of humor but most of all I loved wheh he pulled me aside to tell me just how proud he was of Lori or Mark and how much he liked Neil and just how happy their happiness made him. I loved hearing him talk about all of his family and how much he loved them. He will be missed but I know that he loved each of you and all of his grandchildren fiercely and I hope there is comfort knowing that his family was the most important thing to him and he made sure every one knew it.
