Susan E. Walker

Obituary

Susan E. Walker (nee Manning), 61, of Hampshire, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on December 7, 2021, after a courageous battle against a rare form of cancer.
Susan was born September 26, 1960, the daughter of Dennis and Betty (nee Rolph) Manning in Addison, Illinois. She grew up in Mt. Prospect, Illinois and graduated from Forest View High School in 1978. On May 2, 1980, she married her best friend and the love of her life, Jeff Walker.
Sue loved entertaining and hosting parties, especially summer pool parties. It made her so happy to gather family and friends, old and new, to see the smiles and hear the laughter. She loved people so much.
Being a mom, and later a grammy, were her greatest joys. She loved being with her family. Sue loved the sunshine, hanging out by the pool, butterflies, and angels. She also enjoyed her quiet time, doing her daily crossword puzzles, words with friends, gardening and yard work. She was a devoted wife, mother, grammy, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Sue is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jeff, their children, Jayme Reeves, and Brittany (Cliff) Pawlak, her grandchildren, Janaya, Logan, Nolan, Walker and Reese, by her siblings, Gayle Weinhold, Gary (Linda) Manning and Diane (Nick) Myers, by her in-laws, Denver and Audrey Walker, brother in-law Steve (Cindy) Walker and by many nieces and nephews.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, her son Kyle and brother in-law Jim Walker.

The Lord graciously called our Sue home Tues. The Holy Spirit was with her then and as she transitioned into her new life in Heaven, into the presence and welcoming arms of her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are so thankful her pain and suffering are no more. Sue is in in perfection now so no need of our prayers anymore. The family does request prayer though as we start adjusting to a life without the company of our dearly-loved, sweet and funny Sue. If you and your family do not know this peace through Christ that "passes all understanding" I am sure Pastor Peter would be glad to talk with you after the service today. Mom and Dad Walker
